From University to the Gambling Industry

I studied marketing at the University of Auckland. During that time I got interested in gambling, mostly because I wanted to know why some games feel predictable and others don’t. I kept reading about odds and game behaviour and eventually realised I enjoyed that more than the actual marketing subjects.

Turning Passion into Profession

After finishing uni I wanted to see if I could work in this space. I started writing small guides, then more detailed reviews, and it grew from there. I like going through terms, checking payouts, and trying to explain things in a way that makes sense without sounding too technical.

Expertise in Online Gambling

Over time I’ve written a lot. Some pieces are about games, others about bonuses or just simple things players ask about. When I look at a casino I check the basics first, then I see how it actually feels to use. Some sites look great but fall apart once you start playing. I try to point out both the good and the bad.

Engaging with the Gambling Community

I read a lot of player comments online. People share honest stuff there that you never hear from the casinos themselves. It helps me notice things I might have missed. Sometimes a small complaint from a player ends up being something I add to a review later.

Industry Speaker and Influencer

Every now and then I get asked to speak at events. It’s mostly me talking about the NZ market and what players deal with. I’ve been at a few of the bigger ones:
